Lydia had a gut feeling something was wrong during her daughter Ellie’s first sleepover, but her husband, Mark, dismissed it. Then the phone rang.
“Mom,” Ellie whispered, “I just saw a camera in the room.”
Lydia rushed to the house of Kara—Mark’s old high school friend—and found Ellie shaken. When confronted, Kara claimed the camera was for “safety,” but Ellie had seen it on. Furious, Lydia took Ellie home.
The next morning, Mark suspiciously left the house despite saying he had no plans. Lydia checked his laptop and found an email from Kara: “There’s something you need to see before I delete the footage.”
Lydia followed him and burst into Kara’s home. On the screen, Ellie claimed, “Mom is always mad. It’s better here.” Lydia was crushed—until Kara’s daughter Emma revealed the truth.
“It was just a game,” Emma said. “Mom told us to play it.”
Kara had orchestrated the video to manipulate Mark, exposing a long-buried obsession.
“You’ve always known I’m better,” Kara screamed when caught.
Mark didn’t argue. He closed the laptop, turned to Lydia, and said, “Let’s go.”
They left hand-in-hand, tighter than ever, the lies behind them—and their daughter safe in their arms.
