Unleashing Her Fury by Retracting Advice in Pursuit of Justice

I (30F) went out with my husband to celebrate his promotion. The dinner was great—until the end. I left a $10 tip on an $85 bill, which is about 11%. The waitress loudly sneered, “Ten bucks? This isn’t the 1950s anymore.”

I told her that was a fair tip, but she rolled her eyes and snapped, “It’s 20% now, cheapskate. Don’t you know math?”

Her rude attitude infuriated me. I grabbed the $10 back and said, “With that nastiness, you don’t deserve a tip.” She started yelling, causing a scene until the manager removed her. We left without tipping.

Some say I overreacted and should’ve just ignored her. But honestly, why tolerate disrespect? Sure, maybe it was extreme, but it felt like standing up to entitlement. Sometimes, respect demands a fight.
