Schiff criticizes Democrats for their shortcomings and their “lack of coordinated response” to Trump.

Schiff Criticizes Democrats’ Response to Trump’s Address

In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) slammed Democrats for their lack of a “coordinated response” to President Trump’s recent address. Schiff said the party missed the chance to highlight real concerns like health care, tuition, and housing costs, remarking, “The president spoke for an hour and forty minutes and had nothing to say to struggling families.”

Responding to Democratic strategist James Carville’s controversial suggestion to “play dead,” Schiff disagreed, saying Democrats need a “broad, bold agenda” and better communication to reach new audiences. Sen. Bernie Sanders echoed this, insisting Democrats have been “playing dead for too many years.”

Sen. John Fetterman also voiced frustration over Democrats’ reactions, calling them a “sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance.” He warned that constant outrage only makes Trump look “more composed and presidential.”

Despite criticism, Schiff stopped short of admitting the Biden administration’s economic missteps, instead calling for stronger promotion of their accomplishments.
