Donald Trump is seeing a major resurgence—especially among baby boomers. A new Quantus Insights poll shows his approval among voters 65+ has jumped from 49% to 56%, marking a 15-point swing in just weeks. This renewed support could be critical for Trump and the GOP ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Baby boomers remain one of the most reliable and influential voting blocs. In 2024, 51% backed Trump, helping fuel his reelection. Analysts say that bloc’s loyalty is stronger than ever. CNN’s Harry Enten called it “history-making,” noting that 63% of Republicans now strongly approve of Trump—up from 53% in 2017.
Other polls, like YouGov and Marist, show mixed results, with Trump’s approval among seniors ranging from 41% to 46%. Still, his base remains steady, and his endorsements continue to shape GOP primaries—95% of his endorsed candidates win.
Why the boost? Many seniors view Trump as a stabilizing force—crediting him with strong pre-pandemic economics, aligning with his “America First” agenda, and distrusting mainstream media.
With boomers still dominating the ballot box, Trump’s renewed appeal among them could be a deciding factor in 2026. Like it or not, when boomers back a candidate—America listens.
