Don’t Throw Out Used Tea Bags — Here’s Why!
Most of us toss tea bags after one use. But thanks to my grandmother’s old tricks, I’ve learned they can be surprisingly useful!
1. Soothe Sunburns
Chill a used black tea bag and place it on sunburned skin. The tannins reduce redness and bring a cooling sensation.
2. Heal Minor Burns
Got a kitchen burn? A cool, wet tea bag soothes pain and promotes healing, just like it does with sunburns.
3. Get Rid of Warts
Green tea’s antioxidants help shrink warts. Apply a cooled bag to the spot for 15 minutes twice in a row daily. In a few days, it may fall off.
4. Reduce Puffy Eyes
Refrigerate used black tea bags. When ready, place them under your eyes for 10–15 minutes to ease swelling and dark circles.
5. Cut Grease on Dishes
Soak greasy dishes with used tea bags in warm water. The tannins help lift stubborn stains with less scrubbing.
6. Kill Weeds Naturally
Spray brewed tea or a mix of tea, citrus, and vinegar on weeds. It’s an effective natural herbicide.
7. Feed Your Plants
Dig used tea bags into soil. Roses, ferns, and houseplants thrive from the nutrients!
