Amid violent unrest in Los Angeles sparked by federal immigration enforcement, Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a stark warning: federal law will be enforced, and the consequences will be serious.
Speaking on Fox News, Bondi compared the chaos to a “Third World country” and condemned California’s failure to control the escalating violence, which included looting, Molotov cocktails, and attacks on police. She emphasized that if state leaders won’t act, Washington will.
Bondi revealed that nine people have already been federally charged for assaults, looting, and using incendiary devices. She referenced 18 U.S.C. § 231, which allows the DOJ to prosecute violence against law enforcement as a federal crime. “You spit, we hit,” she said bluntly.
The FBI is actively pursuing suspects, including one caught on video attacking officers. Bondi made it clear: “You can run, but you cannot hide.”
Amid criticism from California officials, Bondi stood by law enforcement, insisting that violence is not protected speech. President Trump also hinted at invoking the Insurrection Act if riots persist.
Lesson: Upholding public safety and the rule of law can’t be optional. When local leaders falter, federal action steps in—with force if necessary.
