FBI Director Kash Patel said last week that “the FBI concealed investigations for then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton,”
as he pushes for more transparency within the bureau in an effort to rebuild trust among Americans.Kash Patel, former chief investigator for the House Intelligence Committee, recently accused ex-FBI Director James Comey of deliberately concealing key information during the probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. According to Patel, Comey misled Congress and the public by downplaying the severity of Clinton’s actions and withholding evidence that may have influenced the outcome of the 2016 election.
Patel claims that Comey’s team had found “substantial” mishandling of classified information, yet he unilaterally decided not to pursue charges without fully informing the DOJ or Congress. “Comey ran an intelligence operation, not a law enforcement investigation,” Patel stated, asserting that the former director used the FBI as a political tool.
Patel also pointed to the now-infamous July 2016 press conference in which Comey publicly cleared Clinton of criminal wrongdoing while simultaneously criticizing her handling of sensitive materials. Patel argues that Comey’s decision to sidestep DOJ protocols and keep Congress in the dark violated the FBI’s standard practices and compromised public trust.
The claims have reignited debates over the Clinton investigation, with some demanding further review of Comey’s conduct. Patel says transparency is vital: “The American people deserve to know if political bias tainted one of the most significant investigations in modern history.”
