My husband went to our friends’ wedding without me, leaving our kids home alone, but he was unaware of one important detail

Last weekend, my world flipped. I’m Kate, a 32-year-old mom of two, and I thought I knew my husband, Max—until he lied, took my car, and left our kids alone to sneak off to a wedding he swore he’d never attend. We were invited to Emily’s wedding, an old college friend. I was thrilled, but Max refused to go, claiming he didn’t want to see people from the past. I went alone, trusting him to stay with the kids.

But when I got home, the house was a mess, our kids were confused—and my car was gone. Emma, my daughter, said Max had whispered, “I’m coming… wedding,” and left. Furious and heartbroken, I called my mom to babysit and drove to the venue. On the way, I called the event manager and told them not to let Max in. Ten minutes later, I spotted him outside, pacing, yelling into his phone.

When he called me, demanding answers, I told him he crossed the line—lying, abandoning our children, and stealing my car. Emily came outside and confronted him too. Turns out, she’d only called him hours earlier, not invited him. And whatever he was hiding, it wasn’t worth the betrayal.
