Stories That Only Get More Haunting With Every Second

When we opened the door, the room was ice cold. My heart raced as we stepped inside, half expecting someone to jump out. But no one was there.

Instead, we found my closet door slightly ajar. Swallowing our fear, we slowly pulled it open… and there it was: a broken air vent rattling in the wind. Every gust made the door creak and the clothes shuffle, sounding eerily like footsteps.

My roommate slumped against the wall, laughing and crying at the same time. After all the panic, it was just a loose vent—nothing more.

We fixed it that night, but the fear we felt stayed with us for weeks.

Lesson:
Sometimes, our mind creates monsters that aren’t really there. Fear grows in the unknown—until you face it and realize it’s often not as scary as it seems.
